The rural property market is slow at present, with only 14 pastoral farms over 100ha having sold in the last 12 months, compared to the 2008 high of 43 sales. The average size was 227.55ha, the median price at $1,289,000.

December, 2011

The rural property market remained steady, with 17 pastoral farms over 100ha having sold in the last 12 months. The average size was 260.90ha, the median price at $1,350,000, a 13% decline on last quarter.

September, 2011

The rural property market has shown some renewed vigour, with 15 pastoral farms over 100ha having sold in the last 12 months, twice that of last period. The average size was 231.21ha, the median price at $1,550,000, a 3.3% gain.
